For this project on the French Riviera, Marea Studio was commissioned by Swiss clients to furnish two apartments in Sanary-sur-Mer, focusing on the living rooms and bedrooms to create warm, cohesive interiors for both owners and future guests.
I built each living room around a soft, neutral linen sofa, layering in textured cushions with organic patterns to bring depth without overwhelming the palette. Woven rattan pendant lights became the signature detail of the project, casting warm, sculptural shadows across the ceilings and tying the spaces together with a relaxed, coastal character. A round dining table paired with woven rattan chairs completes the main living area, offering a natural gathering point just steps from the kitchen.
Natural materials run throughout: light oak flooring, a wood-slat room divider, and handwoven baskets and lanterns used as both storage and decorative accents. In the bedrooms, I kept the palette calm and hotel-like — crisp white linens, soft wardrobes, and a single warm-toned cushion for contrast — designed for effortless turnover between stays.
Beyond the furniture and styling, both apartments were fully equipped and ready for immediate rental: coffee machine, vacuum cleaner, dishware, and all the everyday essentials guests expect from a well-run stay. This turnkey approach means the owners can start welcoming guests without any additional setup.
Set just above rooftops lined with palm trees, the apartments now offer a fresh, sun-filled retreat that reflects both the relaxed spirit of Sanary-sur-Mer and Marea Studio's approach: simple, natural, and elevated.
